Are You Using The “Jackass Factor”?
Vicki Kunkel is a self-professed “jackass”.
And, as the author of the well-known book, “Instant Appeal”, she highly recommends you become one as well – if you’re serious about outshining competitors in an overcrowded marketplace.
“When you leverage the Jackass Factor”, as Vicki will be explaining in your upcoming League Panel, “it transforms you, your company, and most importantly… your product offerings into attractive, enticing propositions prospects are eager and excited to take advantage of.”
The Jackass Factor is what allows you to be who you are, stand for what you truly believe in, and represent your personal and professional values and beliefs. Yet, at the same time, it’s what allows you to be an extremely “attractive” character and representative to your prospects. Two things that are essential to building a thriving business.
The end-result is that more customers buy from you. And, as they do, they buy from you more often and with greater trust.
As you’ll hear from Vicki in your very next League Panel on Thursday, November 12th at 8PM – in a crowded marketplace, with lots of competitors, offers, and options in front of prospects, your ability to convey true personality, a unique perspective, and true authenticity is the minimum requirement if you want to stand out from competitors.
In other words, it’s essential to your business success that you appropriately and properly represent who you are and what you stand for as a company and individual through all of your marketing communications and campaigns.
Fact is; people want to do business with people they like and trust. And, today, people want to do business with other “real people”.
Your prospects aren’t interested in purchasing products and services from a massive corporation, a big company, or even a small business, for that matter. And, frankly, if that’s the image you’re unintentionally conveying via your marketing communications, your sales will suffer. And, suffer significantly.
Instead, your prospects want to spend their money with a real person. A person who understands them, sees their needs, and can relate to who they are. And, this is exactly what the “Jackass Factor” does for you.
When you implement the “Factor” in your business, prospects feel a greater and deeper bond with you.
And, because of that, they’ll feel more comfortable spending money on your products or services.
In the end they’re happier.
You’re happier.
And, your company makes a heck of a lot more money.
The catch, if you will, to doing this correctly, is that even though you want to be yourself and allow your personality and values to shine through in your marketing… you never want to do it in a way that insults, turns-off, or rubs prospects the wrong way.
That certainly goes without saying. Yet, it’s easier said than done.
Fortunately, in your upcoming League Panel, Vicki Kunkel explains exactly how the Jackass Factor will allow you be true to who you are… and… in a way that magnetically draws prospects to you and your company.
In addition to the “Jackass Factor”, you’ll also hear Vicki share how to use certain numbers in your business to dominate competitors and rule your market space.
“In combination, these two competencies will transform almost any business or entrepreneur into a financial force not to be reckoned with!”
Be sure you’ve set aside the time on your calendar to hear everything Vicki has to share about these 2 business-building techniques during tomorrow night’s panel – Thursday, November 12th at 8PM.
In the meantime, join the conversation below. Let us know how you feel about authenticity, trust, and personality in marketing.

Good Day from Portland! I found that really worthwhile. Thanks for the site. I will be back to check for more information tomorrow.
Vickie, Right On!!! What’s an online business without a voice?! One of the best pieces of advice on the web!!! Keith Russell The Keith Russell Keith Russell Enterprises

I need your expertise. Teach me your style. I enjoyed your blog.
Just be yourself. In an offline business, where you deal with the public face to face, you had better be honest and genuine. If you’re not, the clients will see right through any pretense, and you won’t be in business very long. Even though you are not meeting people face-to-face online, your clients can still “sense” insencerity.
Interesting post and message. I think the bottom line is to be true to who you are and to project that image to your customers.
I always tried to keep all my site personal much to the announce of my piers but after all I can only be my self. I don’t see any point in pretending to be something you or your company are not. The end goal is to deliver in a competitive but corporate environment, achieving it will largely be due to the Jackass Factor every time.
I think it is best to adopt the Australian version, “laughing jackass”, after a while you realize being a single entity within business, you take the good with the bad.
Online business is tricky, much like offline business, although in my opinion a lot more honesty is found within the online community.
Lots of hard work, so long as business is kept clean and honest, you can only use your unique personality to shine through in your writing.
Who said “the power of the pen is stronger than the sword” – it can be both constructive and destructive!
Relationships are the key to everything.
As with life, the key on the internet if finding one that is solid and based on the things that matter. A mentor is one way to go, but choose very carefully.

Their message are impressive.
“And, as the author of the well-known book, “Instant Appeal”, she highly recommends you become one as well – if you’re serious about outshining competitors in an overcrowded marketplace.”
Who say’s you must outshine your competitors in an overcrowded Marketplace?
This thought alone conveys a limited world and is exactly what contributes to people not being themselves and to act in ways that are not aligned with what they really want.
If your are going to have people know, like, and trust you then you must get rid of the competitive thought. There is plenty to go around.
Appreciation from the Heart,

So true – success results from the value you bring to others and the differences you make in their lives. Combine this with being true to yourself and you have a winning combination.
Thanks so much for your effort, that was Great.

People are tuned into the WIIFM (What’s In It For Me) channel. When you fake or have sales breath their defenses go up. When your real and focus on them (instead of what you want) you build trust and a long term partnership.
While not pariculary fond of the concept’s label, “Jackass” does give rise to the ’spark of a question’ that, combined with the description above, fosters anticipation of what could be meant by the term’s [positive] application to the concepts that are embodied by such label. This spark of interest was thereby sewn within me.
In that I am unfamiliar with Vicki’s work – and the meaning that is conveyed by the term – I would not wish to apply the term to describe Frank Kern, yet I suspect that both Frank’s methods and results would serve well to exemplify the “Jackass Factor.” While certain that a percentage of his ‘audience’ are offended by him or his works at times, Frank has a way about him that may be described as a ‘magnetic charm’ that, with his choices of what and how to deliver content, combine to yield trust and the desire to know more [the seeds of future sales]. Beyond this, his integration of personality and life situaions into his marketing facilitates strong bonding with prospects and clients.
Based upon the brief description above, I have witnessed the essence of the “JF” at work among a few highly notable authorities within the IM and Real Estate [Investor] training sectors. I look forward to availing myself of Vicki’s shared wisdom and insights, as well as to putting them into practice. In short, anything that allows people to ‘be who they are’ leads to raising the integrity of thoughts and actions that lead to results. Whether for the good or the bad, a consistent path of integrity will contribute to the formation of prospect and customer expectations, including their perceived measures of our relative trustworthiness.
Great post Todd (and Vicki)! I often try to be a “jackass” but my wife and business partner won’t let me! Seriously though, I couldn’t agree more with you on this. After participating at the Engage Today conference in Calgary that was hosted by Greg Habstritt and his business partner Kourosh (spelling?) of the Simple Wealth team, I was overwhelmed by the amazing speakers (Sir Richard Branson, the Dalai Lama, Dr. Stephen Covey, etc.) who all commented on how authenticity is so important today. The flashy, all-teeth, “hypey” guru’s of yesterday will fade into distant memories. Thank goodness!
I would call the “Jackass factor,” the honesty factor. You are setting yourself apart, by being honest about who you are, what you sell, and how it helps the customer. The truly successful, have “branded” themselves as specific people. They are: the class clown, the “rebel,” the Nerd, who understands real people, etc. Yes, it’s a terrifying to do, but worth it.
People like to do business with those they trust. That means they have to see you as you are, not as how you want to be seen. You cannot hold a fake personality for a long period of time, without becoming it. Much easier to be yourself from the start.
Thank you for giving me a chance to learn to know you. Sounds like the thing I need to be in marketing. I can’t wait to hear you in the webinar.
Makes perfect sense RE: targeting a specific niche online and posting up what all the successful marketers describe as “unique content.” In order to do that successfully I would say that you have to be a unique person (Aren’t we all?), but that you also must understand HOW to express that clearly, effectively and uniquely in a way that truly relates to others and where they’re coming from. . . .your potential customers. In other words you have to believe in yourself, to identify with others and have a powerful and persuasive commitment and conviction about what you have to say and the way you say it. . . .a sincerity of heart and conviction that emanates out of the core of your being and positively affects your prospective customers or followers.
Thank you, I’m catching on. Wish I could attend the webinar. perhaps you can archive it.
So I guess I’m confused. It sounds like this should actually be called the “Non-Jackass Factor”? It sounds like we’re talking about how to let one’s personality and possibly quirkiness (for lack of a better word) shine through WITHOUT being perceived as a “jackass”?
This is one of those paradigm shifts that I’ve been unable to make and deep down I know that not only will I have a lot more fun but I will actually reach the very target market who resonate most with me. There’s just that ‘perceived professionalism’ preconceived notion that is still keeping me stuck. You know, it makes you think that nothing you produce is ready for release yet because it doesn’t look professional enough. That you have to get all the top equipments and softwares for presentations for audio and video and so on. Heck, maybe will have to swing the pendulum to the other side and explore my jackass factor and find where I’m comfortable along that spectrum of ‘jackass-nosity’.
small packages come in big surprisess!!
Thank you Vicky. People buy people, and you have just reinforced the marketing strategy I am working on.
hy there i am haveing truble trying to get my password working or cant figger it out cant read the letters and things can you help thank you donald
Hello! If you have sound, and or; ear plugs, you can have audio, to give you the letters or numbers. Just check the box.
This is essentially what “Brand Personality” is all about. If you are a brand you need to have a personality that differentiates you. The catch of course is that you should be able to put your money where your mouth is. Which simply means you need to be a real expert to carry it off!
Hello! You are totally wrong!! If a person does not have any money, but show action in other ways, and they have potintial you can give them a benifit of the doubt in what they do.

Love is always the answer. Just have to know what love actually is!
Ever open to specific applications of this principle, especially as they are beginning to appear in simpler marketing guidelines, flying in the face of the numberless scams that have flooded the Internet since I began trying to market – and losing my shirt – since 1998. I am beginning to see some hope!
Hello Caroline, You are so true, love can outstand anything, with pattion, for what you want to achieve in todays world.
Vicki is refreshing in her outlook.
Speaking your mind shows thru to people and makes you more attractive to them, as she says. My query is “Who are we reaching? Where do our opinions go?” And – “How do we make it happen?”
